Hi all

Well been awhile about two or so months I guess... but I have finally finished my latest creation

I have done a Giraffe x-stitch this time and I am very pleased with how it's come out..

It's taken just over 2 months... but well worth the effort.
I gave it to my niece last night who absolutely loved it so it was worth every struggle I had doing it..

Cross Stitch finished

HI all

Been awhile since posting.

Recently been working on Cross stitches.

Yesterday I finished my elephant cross stitch which I was doing for my mum in australia.

I had planned to send it to her but found out last week she is coming back with my son for

about 17 days.

Damien is going back to australia permanently I am unhappy about that but I want him to be happy. So going to try and send him back on the same flight as mum.

Well here are some pics of my cross stitching through out the process of doing the elephants and the finished product.

Hi all
Sorry this will probably be my last post for a little while.
Creatively I have gone toward Cross stitching and eventually I will be creating my own charts.
Also My son wants to move back to Australia permenantly so need to sort that.
I have severe depression and am just not functioning well.
and I hopefully will be moving house soon.
I will be back with updates occasionally but will not be scrapping for a while nor creating

Well been a bit bad at posting lately...
Things haven't been going so well.. I don't seem to have much creative desire.
I'm not interested in a lot of things
My depression is a bit out of control unfortunately
Damien my son wants to stay permanently in Australia and that is difficult...
I don't know if I will be creating much at the moment.
I've just been doing some cross stitch to pass the time
so here are couple of pics of my cross stitch and hopefully have something
new for you all soon
Currently working on a second cross stitch of some elephants hopefully be finished in about two to three weeks...
Does seem to be where my creative desires are going at this point...

Things not too bad on this front...lol

I got to creating again today and have made another template for you

Again it's very simple but sometimes simple is best

I have also made layout for the template to show a result of what you can do
I have use a couple of pics of my hubby... One is a self portrait that he took of himself...
and one is what I took while he was sleeping yesterday...Yep I know bit naughty.

How annoying is it to people who have made a complaint to a company about the lack of good service. They get a reply from the company that answers everything else but the reason you complained in the first place?

Today I made a complaint to Amazon because it's taking them three or more days before they dispatch an item. Even when you are paying for delivery. I used the Supersaver which means I get free delivery to get free delivery I also have to wait for 3-5 to get it delivered by post after dispatch. Ok I'm fine with that. Free delivery you wait a bit longer..Not a problem not urgent I don't need the item immediately just a book I wanted.

However every time I order whether I order supersaver or whether I am paying for any other kind of delivery except to receive within 24 hours is taking 3 or more days for Amazon to dispatch. It's not about the postal side of things its not about the waiting it's about the time between when they take the order and process it and when they are dispatching the order.

I think it's wrong that you place an order one day they claim it's in stock but unless you are prepared to pay for overnight delivery they are taking 3 or more days to dispatch the item.

I don't have a problem waiting for goods to come if I did I wouldn't use supersaver as it is.. However when I place an order whether it is with supersaver or whether it's when I've paid for the delivery of the item. I expect that when they process that order they dispatch that order.

What I am finding at this time is they process the order and dispatch usually 3 days later I tend to find this unacceptable after awhile. The only way I get that order processed immediately is if I pay more in delivery than what the item is worth in the first place. What I mean by that is I can have the item delivered the next day but that costs me more than the item I have ordered, That is disgusting.

Yet when I write to them to state I think their dispatching dates are a bit out of order I get a letter skirting the issues and I get why they do supersaver and if I want it sooner I can pay for delivery.

Wake up Amazon this isn't about how long it takes to arrive in the mail. This is about how long it is taking you to process the order and dispatch the item. The last time I paid for my deliveries a few weeks ago you gave an estimated dispatch 3 days after I ordered the item and the book was not dispatched until the day after the estimated dispatch day and arrived 3 days after estimated delivery days taking into account you failed to send the item on the dispatch day.

So anyway sorry for ranting again but I do get sick of companies who do not really listen to the complaint of customers and go around in circles stating can pay for delivery to get it faster and it's no faster at all...

Hi All

Hope every one is having a great week so far.

Things have been humming along here quite nicely.

We started making our own bacon yesterday we have two more days to see how it went.

I made a great sultana cake this morning

WE made some fresh butter tonight and my hubby with a small amount of my help made a lovely fresh tomato soup all be it a little spicy he put a whole chilli into it.

Still it was lovely. We had some fresh handmade homemade barleycorn bread so all in all a great day.

Only problem I've got is I am in agony. My back has been playing up for days I know better than to push myself as much as I have but I love producing our own things.

Any way on to the new freebie today I have created two new QP I have used a couple of freebie kits and Tou's are included within the download

Just a loving Thanks

Hi all
today is just a loving thanks to my Husband Paul who put in a lot of hard work and effort so that we can produce some of our own foods.
What am I talking about? well let me tell you
Today my husband butchered some meat and minced it so we could start producing our own foods regularly.
so what you say? Well here's a little background my husband is type 1 diabetic nothing spectacular there I suppose lots of people unfortunately are. My husband has also had full kidney failure and a transplant since.
again so what??? well it's true that others have too. But when my husband lost his kidneys 12years ago he also lost his sight, completely, he is black blind, and although he was a chef before he went blind he has never done butchering.
So not only did he do the actual butchering of the full birds some chicken and turkey which particularly with the turkey took him the better part of an hour he also did the mincing for me manually believe me even with my help takes an age. Well worth the effort but hard work.
So I thank my wonderful loving husband for all his hard work and having stood on his feet for over two and half hours to do this.
I know it took a lot out of him because although I kept asking him to take a rest he ended up having a mild hypo. Recovered fully now but I know he's exhausted... However with what he did we ended up with good fresh mince and are now having turkey burgers for dinner and with the chicken that he butchered we'll be making fresh homemade sausages.
So with that I will leave it there and go make him a coffee and catch you all soon

My husband and I have started producing our own foods.

eg bread or butter, bacon and sausages.

We've only gotten started so lots of learning curves but we are determined to

produce as much as we can ourselves and then save up to buy a bit of land so that

we can grow our own produce as well.

Next week we try our making bacon and I've made jams and preserves before so I will be making some of our own jams as well.

Just for show

Hi All

It's been a bit of an up and down week again... gee I wish I got more up then down..

We put our car in for service and it looks like the head is cracked so it's leaking water which we are going to have to now watch permanently.. We are looking at getting rid of the car permanently but we are not a hundred percent sure we can go without a car completely so we are going through a bit of a test at the moment to see if we can live without a car.

It's not easy because let's face is we all live in a society where cars are deemed necessary, although I hate driving in the UK I still have to consider certain aspects...

I'll keep you updated anyway.

Damien is doing ok in Australia by the sound of it he had som sort of driving lesson from my dad today bit of fun I guess... just hope they're careful

other than that I guess everything is quiet...

small Update

Hi All
Sorry in the middle of doing a new kit so no new freebies at the moment.. But soon I hope.
Things are a bit up in the air at the moment.
I'm in a bipolar cycle which is making life difficult. My husband is bored all the time and wants to do stuff but he doesn't know what he wants to do and because I am in such a state of depression I don't really want to do anything.
Damien seems a bit bored in Australia at the moment so I'm getting slightly agro phone calls instead of nice I'm having a good time..etc then he's losing things and I'm not sure what he expects me to do he's in Australia not England so I can't find it for him.
Then yesterday we go out and some jerk off hits my car from behind after failing to check traffic and the fact that there were no traffic lights and then has the audacity to abuse and scream and swear at me.. On top of that I had right of way... so apart from the fact he hit me and the fact he didn't even know that traffic lights were out???? what does that tell you and he has to abuse me for hitting his mirror on my car when he didn't check what was happening.
Believe me since I've moved here I have been pushed off the road by drivers forced off the road, people swearing, honking their horns, speeding and then when you don't they will flash their lights honk their horns and pull fingers yell out window or swear at you... they don't know how to use roundabouts, riding on my rear end, driving too close, refuse to move over on country roads or to back up when they have a layaway just a right behind them and then forcing forward trying to make me back up sometimes upto nearly 1/2 km because they want to get through rather than them backing up a meter. I have never met a more disgusting rude people that the ones I have to deal with in this area... and there are those that think this is a great joke and laugh at you once they have achieved what they want... they don't stop when they hit you and I have been hit a few times because of people speeding on country roads and forcing themselves through in narrow area's where they should give way...
Since I moved to England and particularly Plymouth area I have found that drivers and unfortunately the people in general are the rudest most arrogant selfish drivers/people I have had the misfortune of dealing with.
Please note I do not include all people but as a whole plymouthians are total........ well I will not finish that sentence.
I don't want to nor do I intend offending anyone but I have really really had it... I am so sick and tired of being treated like ____fill in any blank you like because people think they are something more than they are or more important than anyone else.
It's sad when they make a mistake on the road and abuse you, swear at you or threaten you instead of acknowledging their own lack of concentration or their own errors...
I've had two years of having to deal with it and trying to assimilate with a new country where I have encountered rudeness from the day I first walked off a plane here....
I wont even go into Gatwick and the staff there and immigrations department.
so again I do not mean to offend but enough is enough and If only one person reads this and changes the way they behave on the roads whether in the UK or in any country for that matter then that's one more safer driver on the road... and I acknowledge everyone makes mistakes no is perfect but there are ways of dealing with things....
anyway sorry rant over again

New Recipe-

Hi All

Hope your having a great week thus far.

I'm suffering a bit of depression at the moment. I miss my son terribly but also I just think I've had so much to deal with for so long that I'm not able to cope much any more.

Paul was very sick again last night which also was a worry but he's in a foul mood right now. He downloaded a few weeks ago the stupid new windows 7 and with his being blind and using screen readers and it being a beta version it's not working properly for him.

However I warned him not to download it... Like warning him a thousand times before not to fiddle with his computers in the hope of making them better but noooo!!!! does he listen to me... Don't be silly...I'm just the wife that has to spend hours reinstalling his dang computer fixing errors solving problems...Like I don't have enough to do already..

Sorry ranting a bit here... but I get so tired of it... He has had five computers in 2 years the first was an old Dell just couldn't keep up anymore so brought and Acer big mistake I've had acer before and hated it but I was convinced to try the new acers cause they are so much better...No they are not...they are to put it bluntly crap and no one ever can convince me otherwise; From the day we brought them they were nothing but problems... well that didn't last a year before he had a laptop... that laptop now no longer works or is used because he first tried to turn it back to xp and then he thought he might like to learn linux well that went pear shaped... that computer isn't even used anymore... then I brought him a hp laptop... the software he had to use clashed with it and so he couldn't use it so he went back to the acer for a while... then I brought him an webbook and well that worked for him however it wasn't enough so I had to go and buy a desktop and unfortunately stupidly he chose hewlard packard what a piece of rubbish but he also had to try and improve it and so we get to the fact that he has windows 7 on it and it doesn't work... now he has a mac and I swear I will cheerfully strangle him if he even once tries to improve it... and each one has been stuffed up in some way...the only one now I know he can't screw up too much is the new mac I just brought him...He's never had one before so I don't think that at this point he would be silly enough to screw around with it without me killing him....oh well at least not all the computers have gone to waste Damien my son ended up with the hp laptop and the webbook recently for his trip to australia and he's also gotten a couple of the older computers...

So there you have it he's in a mood because the computer doesn't work well and he did it!!!!... and I'm the one that's got to try and appease and fix things... basically bear the brunt of it

Anyways rant over.... I hope...lol

So this is a recipe I threw together tonight with left over stuff that had to be used and some imagination...

MICHELLE’S SLIGHTLY UNUSUAL PASTA

Ingredients 150g Proscutio or Bacon Pieces

6-8 button mushrooms diced

1/2 red onion diced

200g frozen cocktail or small prawns

1/4 cup of coconut milk

1/2 cup frozen diced mixed vegetables

good dash soya sauce

1 tsp horseradish cream

4 or so slices milano or italian salami chopped up

as much fresh ground pepper to taste

2 tsp cornflour

and little water

Spaghetti or linguini or taglatelli

Parmesan cheese for topping

Put your water on the boil for the pasta and cook pasta to packet instructions

In the meantime using a deep frying pan dry fry your proscutio or bacon pieces for 2 minutes or so add diced onion and diced mushroom and fry for further 5 minutes or so till softened.

Now add your frozen vegetables and cook for further 3 minutes

Add your coconut milk and your horse radish sauce, black pepper good dash of soya sauce and cook for further 3 or four minutes.

Now add your prawns.

Taste at this point for seasoning and flavour add salt and pepper as necessary it’s a delicate sauce so don’t be too heavy handed...

Now add your cornflour and water mix and your salami and cook for further 2 or so minutes do not thicken too much

Drain your pasta if not done already and put into bowls

grate over parmesan cheese and then divide your sauce over pasta between bowls

grate over a little more parmesan and serve...

This week has been a bit of an up and down week for me.

Damien left for Australia Thursday last week and it was a tense 10hours until we new he had managed to find his connecting flight.
He made it to Australia 30 minutes before scheduled and mum and dad were waiting to collect him.
He seems to be having fun over there at this time.

For me it was a bit hard cause first the concern of him travelling alone but then it was cool he's gone for five months Paul and I can have some time to ourselves but then I felt guilty because I felt that way.

Unfortunately have had some serious depression this last week..
However hopefully that will all settle soon.

Hi all
Just thought I'd write a quick update
It's been bit busy around here since we got our permanent visa's.

We are now sending Damien back to Australia for a few months as he has been missing family
there for such a long time now.. He wasn't supposed to go back until september but we managed to scrounge some money together and he is going back next week!!!
He leaves Thursday afternoon at 2:15 and arrives in Perth West Aus 5:25Pm the next day.
Needless to say though I'm definately a bit distressed...One because he's going but two because
he's never travelled alone before.
I know he's 17 and all but only just barely and this is a kid that doesn't leave his bedroom unless crowbarred out and made to go out with us for a day...
I mean this kid wont even catch a bus on his own cause he's scared he'll get the wrong bus or miss his bus or something, believe me we've tried everything to get this kid out of his room... so yeah just a bit stressful in sending him off on his own.
I think he's pretty stressed too...although very happy to be going home also very stressed ashe seems to be getting sicker and sicker by the day...
Hopefully though that will settle down for him once he starts to travel..

We too are also looking at moving...yeah... I mean we've got to save a deposit and all but hopefully we'll be moving sometime between now and before winter starts.
So we've started looking around and well hopefully that will all go smoothly...We've been so unhappy here for a long time that it's caused so much stress and tension within the family at times. Basically we're not living we exist and there is nothing worse than just existing ... so hopefully a fresh start will help us all to feel better.

Actually we're in the process of cleaning the house...lol spring clean I guess just in case we find a house we like and we have the deposit then we can just get on with things..
Finally got the spare room clean yeah... only take three months since we shifted the bedrooms around last time to finish getting it clean but yeah now it's done...

Well that's about it for now.. busy as always... but hopefully will have a new freebie up soon I am working on a new kit now for you all

New Freebie - Quick Page and Recipe

Hi all

Well it's Bank Holiday Monday here in the UK and although it's not raining yet it certainly isn't sunny. My husband always says guarenteed to rain bank holiday and well the barbies all come out as well...lol

Anyway so far been an ok day

I've managed to do a couple of bits of creating

the first I created a quick page using two kits from the blogtrain I was part of

Been bit quiet here lately.

I've been doing a bit of cooking lately..We had an asian feast yesterday from bbqed asian ribs to satay beef and Thai Chicken...

All made by moi... my husband was in seventh heaven...

Lucky for him I love to cook and love to cook all types of cuisine

We are now looking at sending my son back to Australia for three or so months about September so he can see family over there.

Since moving to the UK he has missed family so we thought we'd send him back for holiday and then give myself and Paul a break as well.

My mum and dad get to see Damien..

Paul and I get much needed time alone and hopefully well every one is happy

Hi All
Sorry haven't got a new kit out for you of late nor blogging a lot
been a bit stressed out lately and quite sick again.
I just got Some fantastic news
for those that follow some realise that I was going for my permanent Residency here in the UK
Well I got my visa back today I am so happy
and so relieved... I can stay with my husband and don't have to worry anymore
You can't believe the relief I feel...
Yippeee!!!!

Well I hope every one is having a good weekend thus far...

Ours has been relatively uneventful...

I've now managed to make it to 37 as of Today...

I know that my visa application has made it to the home office because within hours couple hours of recieving it they managed to tget the money... lol... fast taking the money but not so fast in getting much done...

Oh well just have to wait and see what happens....

other than that I've been creating again and just made a small kit today...

New Freebie -Kit

Hi all

Well I hope your all having a great week... Ours has been a bit up and down. First our car decided to spit it with the break lights so had to get them repaired. Well at least the switch because that was what was causing all the problems.

We ended up having to hire a car because they didn't have the parts which was annoying and the person that was supposed to have booked it all in didn't.

I will never use enterprise car rentals again.

I was told would get the car for just over £27 for the 24 hours so you get told one thing then when they have you in the office after filling everything in, with no warning they then tell you they want £150 Deposit.

Most car rentals I've used will take your credit or debit card details and then hold on til the car is brought back to take all monies owing not not this company they want all monies up front however they don't tell you up front they want a deposit of £150.

I find that disgusting not that they want a deposit but that they don't tell you from the start that you have to pay it and they will refund it when they get the car back... of course we didn't have that kind of money so had to use funds we needed for the Visa application which is another whole set of problems

Then when I went to put in my Visa application for permanent residency they had majorly up the blinking prices.

We had saved money for the application for a number of months so that we weren't stressed about the money and we'd managed to save a little more than the application needed just incase there was unexpected expences but we weren't expecting what they decided to put it up to and worst is I had checked the site only four days before there wasn't even any blinking warning that they were putting the prices up... let's stop there because I'm not a happy person.

Needless to say though I'm very stressed about the application. I just don't want anything to go wrong...One it's my family the most important thing to me and two it's a hell of a lot of money paid out not to be returned if they decide to reject the application. That's where I'm going to leave it on that because...well just because

But on the good side Paul is better finally. Everything has stabbalised temporarily for him and I hope it stays for just a little while...

And we are going to our special memorial night tonight the most important night for Jehovah Witnesses... I can't wait... Have missed a lot of meetings due to illness within the family so it'll be nice to get to a meeting and just relax I hope.

Hey all

Well I've now participated in my first Blog train. Yea!!!

As it's just coming up to midnight on the 3rd of April I am going to post a little early for the blogtrain as I have doctor appointments to attend with my husband tomorrow.

Freebie Papers

Hi All

Well I seem to be on the mend...Yeah!!!

if not completely well at least I am able to function more on a day to day basis

I'm nearly finished with getting organised for my visa as well yip..yip..yippeee???...yeah sorry bit of sarcasm I think...but at least I'm slowly getting organised...

Paul still not hundred percent but unfortunately due to his problems there is more complications

when he gets sick....

Hopefully he'll be feeling much stronger soon.. at least he's up and about bit like me a the moment...not great but functioning..

Update

Hi All
Just a quick update while I'm still able to sit upright.
Paul and I are still both extremely unwell and the hope that we hadn't passed it on
to Damien my son seems to have just died a death...

Paul has just gone to the Doctors with his mum a few minutes ago as I am incapable of
driving at this point due to how sick I am.
Paul's tummy is playing up really badly he hasn't left the toilet in days and is in extreme pain so as he's put it cause he's not in very good mood, he's been frog marched to the doctor..

His greatest fear as always is he will end up in hospital. But truthfully as ill as he is there is no reason for him to be in hospital. He's able to eat and drink and keep it down.. He can keep his sugars controlled if not low so It's just a matter of getting help with his tummy.

I haven't slept in days and I still can't swallow or eat any thing much due to the severeity of the
sore throat and now because of the horrible coffing I am being sick all the time with it as well.
However as it's viral and although I am seeming to be swallowing more than the recommened pain killers doctors wont do anything to help me so I have to continue putting up with the excrutiating pain and vomiting that seem to be going with this viral infection.

Damien has been at Paul's parents for a few days btu now I find he is sick too.. we had hoped that by sending him to mum and dad's for a few days would prevent him from getting this infection no such luck.

Now it's just a matter of whether he is better of staying at mum and dad's or coming home... fortuntately or unfortunately mum and dad and their household have had this virus which is actually how Paul and I got it... so it's not likely that they'll get it again.

What a mess.. and then I get more stress from doing the visa to stay in the UK which I have to have done by end of March and Comcare Australia are causing me more distress...
and I am now seriously looking at suing individuals not just the government in general..
We need a break.. we need this rollercoaster to stop...
Two years since we got married and the only wonderful day that everything seemed to come together is actually our wedding day...
It's too much and it's no wonder that none of us are staying well..
all we want is to have some happiness, to have some calmness and to have some peace.. instead we get sickness, stress, frustration, a flat that no person should have to live in...
The amount of stress we are under is beyond what any normal person should have to cope with..
I've had over 15 years of stresses and truthfully I've had enough...

MIA and New Award

Hey all

sorry I haven't been around much
my husband is very sick at the moment
and as he's type 1 diabetic, blind and also had kidney failure it's much worse
I'll explain my husband has been sick all his life he was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when he was 7
due to a number of complications he started losing his sight in 97 totally blind by 98 and unfortunately what they didn't know was he was losing his kidneys too
which they did find out on the day went blind also lost his kidneys as well.
In 94 Paul got a Kidney from his mum which he's nearly perfect match for
which is fantastic but unfortunately due to immuno suppressors and other meds he on
when he gets sick he really gets sick
Because Paul's had a kidney transplant we always have to be watching
and he's had a virus for over 12 days now and it doesn't seem to be getting any better
and we've so got to watch that nothing happens to that kidney
that's why I'm hit and miss at the moment with getting things done

Also I'm not well physically or right now mentally or emotionally due to Paul's being ill and my own depression I suffer with

Well Hi all

it's been a bit hectic here and until

today I hadn't felt much like creating

Recently I've just started doing my cross stitching again

so am now looking at turning a lot of my photo's into

cross stitch patterns as I have the software to do that.

I look forward to seeing what the results will be.

In the meantime I have done some creating for you and this

Apart from the canisters which I learnt some of the settings and how to do them

from a tutorial all others are of my own creating

I'm still trying to get all the settings right

Ok so here’s a easy tutorials using vectors and

And eye candy> bevel

And of course your own imaginations

This tutorial was written by Michelle Mills on 23^rd February 2009.

This tutorial assumes you have a working knowledge of Paint shop Pro.

The results of this tutorial were done in Paint shop Pro Ultimate x2.

An orange

Open a new 500x500 transparent image

And then with your foreground null and background an orange colour

I used #ee9730 create a circle using your ellipse tool set to circle and line width 2

Pull out a circle like so

Now using your pen tool right click on a node convert to path and now we need to

Add some nodes to shape our orange so with control key pushed in and using left mouse

Add two nodes near the bottom node on our circle like so when near the line a little +add will

Pop up click with left mouse and node will appear

Now click on your middle node and pull up just slightly

Now repeat these steps to add two nodes to the top of orange just slightly wider this time

And again pull down the middle node just slightly

now convert your layer to raster

Now use your magic wand to click the outside of the orange as we are going to add our shadowing

Using your airbrush with the following settings

Size 40, hardness 30, step 1, density 40, thickness 100, rotation 0, Opacity 20, blend mode normal, and rate 25

Choose a darker orange #e78411 add a new raster

Now use the airbrush to mark around the edge of your orange

Now choose a lighter orange #f1b267 and add a new raster

Add the lighter shading around the inner layer of the dark shading like so

Go back to your dark shading layer and add adjust>blur>Gaussian blur of 30

Then go to your light shading layer and add Gaussian blur of 35

Now you merge visible but do not deselect

Lets add our bevel I have used eye candy 5> bevel with the following settings

two images one for basic tab one for lighting tab before clicking ok

Deselect

Using your selection tool with ellipse pull out a small oval near top of orange for more shading

With your first colour #ee9730

Now using your lighten/darken brush with the following settings

Size 15, hardness 50, step 25, density 100, thickness 100, rotation 0, opacity 32, mode RGB

You need to darken toward back of the oval shape and lighten toward the front

With your pen tool freedraw, and line width two and your foreground colour your dark orange draw a small line near the oval to highlight it like so

That’s your basic orange... Now if you like can add a stick and leaf or two

Here we go

Using your pen tool with the following settings

Freedraw, Tracking 10, create on vector, straight line, width 15, anti-alias checked

Choose a foreground brown colour #86541a

Null background

Draw out a line

Convert to raster

If you have eyecandy>texture>wood can use that I used redwood

Otherwise use eyecandy>bevel with the following settings

For the leaf with foreground null and background green #5ece12

Using your pen tool again convert to path and shape the leaf

Add nodes as necessary till it is a shape you like

Convert to raster

Now to add the veins

Again using pen tool changing your width to about 3

And with your foreground a dark green # 50a913

Mark our some veins then convert to raster and

Adjust>blur>Gaussian blur 3

Well that's it...I hope you enjoy this tutorial..

The time a Strawberry

Open a new 500x500
transparent image

And then with your
foreground null and background a Red colour

I used #f11533 create
a circle using your ellipse tool set to circle and line width 2

Pull out a circle

Now using your pen
tool right click on a node convert to path

Pull out the bottom
Node and slightly to the left

Convert layer to
raster

Now go to eye candy
bevel and use the following settings basic and lighting tabs

Now for the slightly
longer task of adding the seed

Using your ellipse
shape and black as your background colour

Draw out a little
shape

Continue to do this
all over the strawberry then convert to raster

Use eye candy bevel
again with the following settings basic and lighting tabs

Now for the leaves

Using your ellipse
tool

Using green #50a913

Draw out a small oval
shape

Use your pen tool and
convert to path and then shape your leaf

Once shaped convert
layer to raster

Duplicate layer twice
and then using deform tool move your shapes to form basic

Leaf pattern

Now go to 3d>
effects>inner bevel and use the following settings

Merge visible and
save

Supplies required eye candy 4000, eye candy Impact bevel

Open a new 500x500 transparent image

Start with the body and using your ellipse tool with whatever colour you
like

Today I’m going to use a brownish colour 563c24

Null your foreground and draw out and oval or circle

Now go to your pen tool and right click on node and convert to path

Right click again and node type to cusp

Stretch out and bring up your little arrows like so

Convert to raster

I’ve decided to put some pattern on his back so I’ve used my airbrush
tool

Size 15, hardness 20, step 1, density 40, thickness 100, opacity 20,
rate 5

Add new raster and I’ve used a lighter brown 77634f

Then adjust blur Gaussian 5

I used default setting today for this spider and then adjusted the
lighting

83, 55, 80, 50

Now create a circle for the head with your colour or one slightly
lighter if you like

Convert to raster and use eye candy bevel again

Again I’ve used default and
changed the lighting

This time to 268, 23, 65, 92

Now arrange so the head sits in the little hollow you made with the body

Now let’s do our legs

Use your Pen tool freedraw and change your dark colour to your
foreground

And keep background null

Use the following settings freedraw, tracking 10, show nodes, create on
vector, width 10

Now draw a little half triangle where the fangs will be

Convert to raster and duplicate layer and mirror

And place the fangs where you like not too close

But not too far apart either

Now use default setting for the fangs but change the lighting again

This time to 91, 0, 65, 92

And repeat the bevel

Now for the legs

Using the same settings for the fangs draw out your front leg on right
side

Again it’s a half triangle but a lot longer and should start near the
fang

Then convert to raster

Now do the second leg and this time it’s about half way down the head

Same basic shape for the leg

Convert to raster

Third leg is at the base of the head and beginning of the body

Convert to raster

The final leg starts at the body but this time it goes straight back as
follows

Convert to raster and then close off all but the legs and merge visible

Use basic default settings again and change the lighting

This time to 275, 0, 65, 100

Repeat bevel with lighting at 162, 0, 65, 100

Duplicate layer and mirror and then place legs on the other side not
quite matching

Move leg layers to the bottom

Using your circle ellipse tool create a small eye for your spider

White for background foreground is null

Convert to raster duplicate layer and merge down

Now do a smaller circle with black

Place within the white of the eye and merge down

Now merge the black pupils down onto the white and using

Eye candy 4000 glass use the following settings

5.99, 50, 23, 0, 0, 0, 50 colour very light grey

Lighting 279, 29, 100, 40, white, 0, 300

Now merge visible and save as png or pspimage you’re done

Now as each individual spider is different every time you do it...

Most of these settings are a guide...

More often than not all you need do is play around with lighting

The eyes though can be the hardest bit and you may need to play around
with all settings until

You get an eye you like

Well I got to
creating today and I thought I’d try a Bee

However after
searching and search I couldn’t find a bee tut I liked

Only few out there so
I looked around for some ideas and came up with this

Supplies needed Eye
candy bevel

Eye candy 4000

Ok let’s go

First create a new
500x500 transparent image

Null your foreground
and background is black

Using your ellipse
tool draw out an oval shape

Align to the centre
and Convert to raster

Now use your mesh
tool to make a stinger do this until you’re happy

Now choose a
yellowish green colour for the body I used #b0ae13

Now using your
selection tool freehand point to point mark out small section for the yellow
band

And flood fill with
the yellow do this till you have as many bands of yellow as you want

Now go to Eye
Candy>impact>Bevel and use the following settings

59.67, 100, 100, 0,
inside selection, 0, shade interior checked,

Lighting 65, 47, 68,
60, highlight white, shadow black

Null your foreground
again and draw out a circle with your preset shape

Convert to raster and
use Eye candy bevel with same settings as before but change lighting to

66, 16, everything
else the same

Now move this to just
the right of your body

Now draw out a
slightly bigger circle for the head

And use eye candy
bevel again using the same settings but change lighting to

257, 60, 77, 73 all
others the same

Move the head to
slightly right of the small body

Now with your pen
tool draw freehand, tracking 10, create on vector checked, width 3, anti-alias
checked draw out your antennae

Convert to raster and
duplicate....move antenna until sitting way you like

Adjust your body as
you need to and merge visible

Now it’s wing time

With for foreground
null and background white draw out an oval with your ellipse preset shape

Then drop the opacity
to 20

Use cut-out with the following
settings

10, 10, 70, 40

Now free rotate wing
45 degrees

So you can see what you’re
doing you may want to create a new raster flood fill and send to bottom

Move the wing to the
body segment until sits where you want

Duplicate wing layer
and merge down

Duplicate merged
layer and mirror and place other wing

Duplicate a wing
layer and resize to 70% and then free rotate 45 degrees

Move this wing to
major body area and then duplicate and mirror

Move the wings around
until placed where you like

Now close off your
white raster layer and then merge visible

Now for the eyes

With your circle
preset tool draw out a small circle to fit on the face for eyes

Duplicate the white
eye and move so that you have both eyes equally placed

Change background
colour to black and still leaving foreground null draw out a smaller circle for
the pupils

Then move the pupils
until in position you like close all layers except the eyes and merge visible

And using eye candy
4000 glass use the following settings

Bevel 3, smoothness
82, inside marquee, 30, 35, 50, 0, 50, glass colour very light grey

Lighting is 91, 34,
100, and 40, highlight white, 0, and 300

Merge visible and
then save as png....

New Freebies and a bit of a Rant

Hi all

Well I hope you're having a great week thus far

Not much happening this end at the moment.

Got to go for a walk today which was lovely walked along the

bank of the Avon river in Devon.
Then ended up in Exeter for lunch unfortunately wouldn't recommend the resturant
we went to... We had planned on going a resturant that sounded like had great food
but get all the way to Exeter from Plymouth only to find it closed... Was definately supposed
to be open so went to another place just walking distance from it
Waterfront Resturant...
Service was friendly if a little lax.. I mean couldn't remember that we had ordered a pint of Guiness
They don't use the actual resturant for lunch can only use the bar area
great if you want to sit on long couches with very low tables but I'm sorry I like
to sit at a meal.. I didn't even have a couch just one of those box stools with
a soft padding on top..but it makes it very difficult to eat particularly for my husband who
is blind when he can't find his food easily because the table is too low to where he is sitting
or outside seating
only good if it isn't raining.. and believe me I've been in UK 2 years I'm not sure

it doesn't ever stop raining particularly in Devon...
I have yet to see a summer in the UK
I've seen reviews where people had raved about the pizza and burger but if that's all they know
how to cook half decent it's a worry
Lets say they claimed it was home cooking... But if I served food up like that
my family would shoot me...
Lets start with the good... The starter we ordered was ok..
We had the combo to share between
three and that included garlic bread, crumbed squid, onion rings (very good),
chicken goujons, stuffed spud(filled with cheese and ham or bacon don't know no taste except mild cheddar cheese)
and some corn chips, bbq dip, sour cream and sweet chili
Now this is supposed to be a family combo however most family combo would serve 4 this truthfully only serves 2
My husband for his main had cod fish cakes... These were not bad from what I gather...
However the rest of his meal was awful
First my husband is type 1 diabetic he has to have a certain amount of carbs with his meal
when we ordered we specifically asked for the potato salad, when they brought the meal out
no potato salad so they went to get some.. they must have made it on the spot... cause it was
smoothered in helman's mayonaise and bit of chive through it... ridiculous..
his coleslaw was no better
Now yes I love to cook and get lots of practice... but this is a resturant for crying out loud..
It's supposed to serve decent food for the money you pay.. and for what I paid, which was a lot
I expect a heck of a lot better than what we ended up with
Unfortunate to say.. They seemed to love Mayonaise and believed that coleslaw and potato salad
is made only with mayonaise and nothing but mayonaise...Helmans of course
OH and has anyone ever had tomatoes that look great
I mean just seem to be perfect in every way and yet manage to
have absolute no taste... I mean it..No taste..No flavour nothing it was just this reddish thing
sitting on a plate...and when you put it in your mouth and bit into it absolutely no taste
I've never experienced that in my entire life.
My meal looked like someone had chucked up on the plate to put it bluntly..
and I have never known a resturant any resturant ever
to serve tuna with great blinking bones and the skin on...there is no warning that this tuna has
bones there is no warning the skin is on.. so It looks burnt and digusting
and yet they still manage to over cook it
and the crushed pototo and capsicum and whatever else they just jumbled together,
over roasted and stuck under the tuna.. well that was just gross as I said looked as if
someone threw up in my plate
and the supposed fresh lime and coriander salsa
well I never even saw anything that resembled a salsa let alone taste of lime or corriander
Damien my son was the only one to get something part way decent with his pizza but even that had
very little taste.... It was supposed to be a cowboy pizza with pepperoni and roast chicken and some
other meats... well for all the flavour was supposed to have.. spicy etc... there was very little...
and of course just had to put so much cheese on it... but did they use I don't know mozzarella or other
cheeses like it... No it was a mild cheddar and lots and lots of it...
needless to say...Not an experence I wish to repeat

Well that's my rant over I hate resturants that claim to serve home style but is rubbish...
You go out to a meal to enjoy good food and company
this was not good food...
Without being awful though we have found unfortunately
that find good places to eat in this area is not always easy to find.

so on to this blog

Lokas>gel and eye candy > glass

Create 2 new
500x500 transparent images minimize one

Find a colour you’d like
to use to make your ladybug...Can be any colour you like

For this tutorial I’m
going to make an Orange ladybug #f6b648

Using your preset
tools> Ellipse> circle

Make a circle as big
as you’d like

Now using your lasso
tool point to point draw a line just over half way through the circle and
around till you end up with something like this

Now cut and paste to
the second transparent image

You can delete your
first image if you like won’t need it again stay with your second image

Now flip your new
image

Use your plugin
lokas>gel with the following settings

Bevel 36, bevel depth
53,

Colour is the colour
you are using

Shadow is a darker
colour than using in my case #d78d19

Highlight opacity 50,
shadow opacity 70

Now use plugin Eye
candy>Impact>glass with the following settings

On basic screen
32.75, 25.83, 0, 5, 10, 40, 72, 0, 10.7, 20

On your lighting
setting use 72, 49, 75, 75

Now with your lasso
tool again cut out from about three quarters of the way

See image below on an
earlier try

Free rotate your wing
now 90 degree to the left

Select all>float>defloat

Selection>modify>select
selection borders

Border width 1, both
sides, anti-alias checked

Add new raster flood
fill with black and then add eye candy glass settings again

Select none and merge
down

Use your airbrush
tool with the following settings to add your spots

Round, size 15,
hardness 30, step 1, density 40, thickness 100, rotation 0, opacity 20, rate 5

Place your spots how
you like

Duplicate layer and
mirror

Bring both layers
together until they just join

Using your preset
tools ellipse and ellipse make an oval to fit as the body

Use eye candy glass
with the following settings

44.32, 30, 0, 40, 56,
29, 75, 0, 27.42, 0

Lighting is 348, 3

Move your body layer
to the bottom under the wings

Using ellipse tool
create a small head

Convert to raster and
use the following same settings for eye candy glass on basic screen but change
the lighting to the following

85, 35

Make sure this layer
is above the body but below the wings

Add a new raster just
above the head layer and using air brush again but changing the size to 5

Make an antenna you
will need to draw over couple of times...

Now duplicate the
layer and merge down do this till it as dark and think as you’d like

Use eye candy once
more with the previous setting

Duplicate image and
mirror and adjust antennae till sitting where you’d like

Merge visible and
then save as png and ready to use

A Tube of choice I have used the artwork of Nene Thomas

Plug-in eye candy impact extrude (optional)

VM distortion > kaleidoscope

Ok this is an easy Tutorial but has a couple of steps

Open your tube and your mask

First let’s create a new transparent 600x600 image

Create a new raster and then select all

Open paper 9 and paste into selection change opacity to 50%

Add a new raster and select all

Now open paper 16 and copy and paste into selection

Now go to Layers>new mask>from image

Select mask from drop down menu and source luminance checked only

Merge group and then duplicate your layer and merge down

Duplicate layer again and merge down

Add a drop shadow I used default values

Copy and paste your Tube as a new layer and add a drop shadow

I used V&H 5 opacity 60 and blur 5

Open Red rose and copy and paste as new layer then resize to 50%

Free rotate image 35 degrees and then duplicate layer three times

Move each layer a little until you have a bunch of roses

See my image for approximate layout

Merge the rose layers and move into the crook of arm

Erase part of the stems to look like she is holding the roses

Open bow 10 copy and paste as new layer and resize 30%

Free rotate to 35 degrees and place on stems of roses

Copy and paste red rose again and this time resize to about 40%

Now scatter them about when you have enough and how you want

Merge layers and change opacity to about 65%

Add your text and if using plug-in use extrude with the following settings

Under basic settings use extrude direction 18, distance 20, taper 0, smoothness 50, solid colour and colour of choice, light direction 129, highlight brightness 50, highlight colour white, shadowing 50

Save now

Part two

Add a frame however you like... I used the following settings

Add borders 3px and red add inner bevel 2, w 3, s 40, d 5, a 0, s 20, c white, a 315, i 40, e 30

Repeat with black and then red again

Add borders px 20 black use magic wand to select border and then use VM distortion plug-in

Kaleidoscope and find just play until you find a setting you like

Add an inner bevel with the following settings

Bevel 1, w 2, s 10, d 6, a 30, s 0, c white, a 315, i 40, e 33

Save work

Part three

Promote background layer and increase canvas size to 950

Decoration time...

Duplicate layer and resize to 50%

Move you where you’d like it I moved mine to upper left

Add a drop shadow to your first image I used default and then did it again this time

Using V&H -10

Add drop shadow to your second image this time half of default values and repeat

With your V&H -5

Find which ever decorations take your fancy

This is your tag ... Have fun...

If you wish to put items under your frame

Use your deform tool and perspective or use your control button on your keyboard and left mouse button to manipulate image push the top area together

The doing the same thing pull the bottom area out and it will flatten an image for you

Well have fun don’t forget to add any copyright information when done and your watermark

Resize your image and if necessary sharpen once

Save your work you’re done

Disappointed

I think I am more than disappointed with most that download from my blog and cannot be bothered to say thank you... doesn't take long believe me... It's certainly isn't hard..
You can say thank you through the shout box and through comments..

Since the beginning of February when I put up my new frames through to today I have recorded
in excess of 625 people visiting..

I wont say how much has been download cause but it's more than I've had in visitors....however do you know how many people could be even bothered to say hello, thank you or leave a comment since the beginning of February... I wont include previous months...because believe me at times they are no better...
to those that have shown appreciation or left a small comment it has been much appreciated... they made my day
I don't expect thanks or comments from every single person to visit or for every download they make however
Out of 600+ visitors I got a total of 10 thank you and comments and half of those come from digifree and other sites that advertise my freebies...

I don't generally require credit for use of my work...
I really don't think I ask that much but I am totally disgusted with the rudeness and the fact that my TOU's seems to be ignored by some
I am really glad people like my work... I really appreciate that people like it enough to visit and download it but
Really though how hard is it to say thank you for your photo's or thank you for the tutorial ... Or thank you for the freebie.. It takes a minute...
Less than that...takes longer to do a download than it takes to say thanks on a shout box...
But more importantly how hard is it for people to respect my TOU's

I truly am so disappointed that I am seriously considering shutting down...what is the point if there is no appreciation... or respect

Hi All

Hope is all well out there for you

today I thought I'd just post a new recipe

this is one of my quick call on recipes when money is tight or

it's lunch time and I haven't really got a lot around that isn't frozen

cause I've forgotten to take it out of the freezer...lol

bad for that at times tell ya...specially since moving to England

in Australia pretty much took it out that morning be defrosted by

lunch hre in middle of winter with a flat with no heating and

it's actually colder inside the flat than outside you tend to need to

take things out of the freezer the night before or earlier if you can

remember...lol

Any way it's a great standby recipe... Nice and healthy

very little fat...

well I hope you've all had a great weekend and a good start to the week.

I have thought long and hard whether to offer my photo's as tubes for people to use

without having to specifically ask me permission every time someone wants one.

So I am going to offer my photo's as tubes

however there are rules for the use.. and they must be respected please

Nice and quiet here today. Damien's gone to stay with Paul's parents for the weekend so

we get to have some more free time... wow two weeks in a row...

Other good news Damien got to some work this week as well.. yippeee!!!

New Tutorial

Hi all and thanks for visiting...

I want to thank all those who tried my latest tutorial and for all the lovely comments...

Well I got to creating again today and basically created a very simple background with frame...

No special skills needed here just some creativity and imagination..

I did use one plugin called brush strokes which you can get here

and you will need two tubes one main one and one secondary for the background...

and a gold pattern

I'll leave it for you to choose what you would like to use today

The results of this tutorial were done in Paint shop Pro Ultimate x2.

BEAUTY

Open a new 500x500 transparent image

Choose a light and dark colour from the main tube

Flood fill your new image with the Light colour you have chosen

Open your secondary image and duplicate it and close the original

I used a daisy image

On this image using your plug-in brush strokes and crosshatch use the following settings

Stroke length 18, sharpness 9, strength 1

Copy and paste as new layer to your filled image and move to the right

Duplicate your layer and mirror then merge new layer down

Effects>Image effects>seamless tile use default setting

Change blend mode to soft light

Duplicate layer and image>flip and merge layer down

Use your plug-in again with the same settings and change opacity to 50%

Now with rectangle selection tool select a small section of your background and copy and paste as new image

With this new image create a seamless tile with the default settings and then just minimize for now

Open main image and copy and paste as new layer to your background image and resize as necessary

Add a drop shadow

Now for the borders

Image add border of 5 use white and then with magic wand select the border and fill with your dark colour

Add a bevel with the following settings

Bevel 2, width 3, smoothness 40, depth 5, ambience 0, shininess 20, colour white, angle 315, intensity 40, elevation 30

Select none

Find a your gold pattern add borders 2 using white

Use magic wand and select border and flood fill with gold pattern

Add border 5 and fill with light colour, select border with magic wand and use same bevel as before

Add borders again 2 and fill with gold pattern

Add borders again 5 fill with dark colour and add inner bevel again

Add borders 15 and this time go to your patterns in material palette and find the small seamless pattern we made and flood fill with the pattern

Add borders again 5 dark colour add inner bevel

Add borders again 2 fill with gold pattern

Add borders again 5 fill with light colour add inner bevel

Add borders again 2 fill with gold pattern

Add borders again 5 fill with dark colour and add inner bevel

Select all and selection>modify>contract 53 and invert

Add inner bevel with the following settings

Bevel 2, width 2, smoothness 0, depth 2, ambience 0, shininess 0, colour white, angle 315, intensity 50, elevation 30

Now add your choice of corner and your water mark and any copyright information

Resize to whatever size you like

That’s it you’re done...

Supplies need three tubes of choice

I have provided some of the background supplies here

If necessary install the gold texture in your texture or pattern files

I have used the beautiful Artwork of Maribel which you can find here

Ok so here we go with the tutorial

Couple of steps involved but all very easy

First Create a new 600x450 transparent image

Choose two colours from your tube a light and a dark colour and

Flood fill with your dark background colour you have chosen from your main tube

Colours I have used #23864b for my foreground and #176534 for my background colour

Now go effect>texture effects>blinds and with the following settings

Width 2, opacity 70, colour your light colour and light from left to top checked

Copy and paste as new layer your fan and move to the left see image for placement

Change opacity to 50% and blend mode to soft light add a drop shadow

V -3, H 0, Opacity 70, blur 6, colour black

Now copy and paste as new layer your umbrella and move to bottom right

Opacity at 60% and blend mode luminance legacy

Drop shadow V 3, H 3, opacity 70, blur 6, colour black

Copy and paste as new layer your main tube and resize as necessary

Place where you think is best I placed ever so slightly off centre and added a drop shadow

V & H 5, Opacity 60, Blur 6 colour black

Copy and paste as new layer one of the symbols and place to the top left of image

I used beauty and then change opacity to 80% and blend mode to luminance

Image add borders of 2px with white

Use your magic wand to select the white border and fill with gold pattern select none

Image add borders of 25 px with white

Select border with magic wand and using your clone brush fill in the border

If you can’t get a pattern you like... I found it easier to open your fan tube and recreate the background like your tag and then add borders of 25 that and use the clone brush to create your frame border...then go back and add new raster to your tag image and copy and paste into selection do not deselect

See screen shots below

Add a new raster and flood fill with white and change the opacity to 20% merge down this layer and then merge down again do not deselect yet

Effect>inner bevel with the following settings

Bevel 1, width 8, depth 2, Ambience 0, shininess 10, colour white, angle 315, intensity 67, elevation 20

Select none

Add borders 2px with white and then select again with magic wand and fill with gold pattern

Promote background to raster

Image>canvas size width 820, height 750

Now using the scrapkit choose some elements to decorate your frame

I have used element 26 butterfly copy and pasted as new layer, resized to 40% and free rotated to 35 degrees to the right move to the right corner see image for placement

And then adjust manual colour correction and changed it to following settings

Right click on the top left image on the screen to get the main colour and then

Hue 18, sat 165, lightness 124 and change opacity to 60%

Element 14 and copy and pasted as new layer and then using deform stretched it go across the bottom of my frame see image

Manual colour correction using same technique as before and use the following settings

Hue 101, Sat 167, lightness 106

Add dropshadow of V&H 3, opacity 60, blur 5, colour black

Element 16 copy and paste as new layer and move layer underneath the ribbon layer

And then manual colour change and click your mouse on the flower in the top left image and use the following settings

Hue 19, sat 142, lightness 147

Add same dropshadow as before and duplicate image and move to the right of the image

See image for placement

Add a drop shadow to the frame if you like add your watermark and any copyright information

Merge visible and crop your image and resize to what you like

You are done...

Hi all

I hope your all having a great weeks...It's been a bit of an up and down week here.

We've had a nice couple of quiet tdays with our 2nd anniversary...

but unfortunately inbetween there has been some downs and depression really sux

However I've been able to creat again in the last couple of days.

I've tried a couple of tutorials which was fun and I'll show the results of those tutorials.

I've practiced some tubing

which I will also show results of and I'm hoping to do some of my own creating and new

Hi All

Hope your all doing well out there

I've just finished celebrating my 2nd Wedding Anniversary
It was a lovely day..and although we didn't do much we got to

spend some much needed time alone... after spending the time

in the afternoon as a family and having lunch at a new

resturant...My son went to Paul's parents

for the night and we got to have a lovely dinner together and just

chill for the night..

Hi All

I feel bad about this but it seems that I may have created a tag that unfortunately may have stolen cute posers in them. Therefore I am removing the tag I created with that kit.

I had downloaded a kit in good faith from a site called http://sugarspicebrat.blogspot.com/ which is now shut down by the owner a few weeks ago..
but only today am I finding out this information that her creations may have or appear to be stolen unfortunately.
I have gotten information from Brandi's site http://brandiscreations.blogspot.com/ also from http://www.lassiesdesigns.com/scotty.html who Claim their work stolen
I do not know that the poser were stolen or not... I can only take precautionary action...

I am now however removing the results of the tag I created with that kit and when and if I find out more information then perhaps I'll be able to create a new tag.
The kit is called Parfait scrapkit and I'm sorry to say I do not know how much if any of it that may be stolen and am trying to find out.

I'll also be removing the header that was created for me by sugarspicebrat as I cannot be sure that any of the work in that is not stolen

If anyone has downloaded the kit on my recommendations I am trying to get more information about it and I am truly sorry that this has happened.
In the meantime I would suggest not using the kit until I do have further information.

Again I apologise for the inconvience and hope you will continue to visit my site...

Well one room in a shift around is finally nearly complete only four more room to do.

Well basically I've been playing this weekend and have made a couple of tags
